Arrest made in missing woman case
COURT • An arrest has been made in relation to a missing 23-year-old Medicine Hat woman.
Police say Amy Lenora Lewis was with friends two days before her disappearance was reported June 13.
Lewis’ vehicle was found in the parking lot of the Parkland Motel in Medicine Hat on June 14.
Investigators “strongly believe foul play is the cause of her disappearance,” according to a police release.
Police were unavailable for comment and did not provide further details.
Fire crews, search-andrescue teams and police searched near the South Saskatchewan River Saturday.
Jerrison Herve Stopanski has been arrested as part of an investigation by the Medicine Hat Police Service Major Crimes Section.
Stopanski, 34, is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.
