• 1990: The Calgary Stampede released its Horizon 2000 expansion plan.
• 1990: Stampede parties were held in Australia, Jakarta, Indonesia, the Sultanate of Oman and Bolivia.
• 1994: The Stampede Foundation was established.
• 1996: Barrel racing was recognized as a major event and included in the $50,000 showdown.
• 1997: A permanent rodeo infield structure with 23 deluxe box suites was built at a cost of $8.2 million.
• 1998: The 75th anniversary of chuckwagon racing at the Stampede.
