Coker to sit out Rider matchup

- — Kristen Odland

STAMPEDERS • After Friday’s 20-17 pre-season win over the Edmonton Eskimos, Stampeders running back LaMarcus Coker underwent an MRI to examine his knee.

Although it came back negative — a reason to be optimistic — Calgary coach/GM John Hufnagel is playing it safe.

“I don’t think he’ll make (Friday’s) game (at the Saskatchewan Roughriders),” he said.

“If it was a regular season game he probably could and would. We’ll just let it heal up.

“There’s nothing wrong,” he added. Other than wide receiver

Anthony Parker (concussion), Hufnagel said no other injuries of note came out of Friday’s game.
