Recalls galore

-

The bad publicity Alberta receives in regards to their recalled beef products is astounding. First in 2003, with the mad cow outbreak, and now in 2012, with this new E. coli outbreak.

Working in a grocery store, I witness the amount of products recalled, including a Chinese food distributor being shut down just last year due to an E. coli outbreak. However, when customers asked why they couldn’t find the product, we were told to avoid informing them about the E. coli outbreak.

If consumers are wary of purchasing beef because of this E. coli outbreak, I would hate to see their wariness if they were truly aware of all the recalls that occur in grocery stores.
