Re: “Downtown parking rates on the rise,” Oct. 3.

Now that it is official that we have the highest priced parking in Canada (second highest in North America), we are informed that this is good — it encourages the use of public transit. City council and their various assistants are the leaders in our community. They encourage citizens to be environmen­tally responsibl­e and use public transit.

Can be we be assured that all people working in City Hall take the bus to work and the entire undergroun­d parking below City Hall is now rented out to the general population?
