Ray’s status still up in air
Ricky Ray threw a football Wednesday, and threw it more than once, Toronto Argonauts head coach Scott Milanovich said. And the quarterback might throw again Thursday.
But Milanovich frowned after Toronto’s Wednesday walk-through and remained cryptic about the status of Ray’s sprained left medial collateral ligament as preparations began for Monday’s home game against Saskatchewan. Ray has not spoken to the media since injuring his knee in Montreal two weeks ago.
“We’ll see if (Ray) can do some drills tomorrow, and then we’ll adjust it from there,” Milanovich said.
So, for now at least, Jarious Jackson remains the Argos’ starting quarterback. Milanovich said he played “extremely well” during Saturday’s win in Winnipeg. Jackson completed 17-of-28 passes for 155 passing yards with one touchdown, and ran for 51 yards and another touchdown.
