Nik Lewis back on field

-

Lewis returned to practice on Wednesday, and while he wasn’t firing on all pistons, it was a step in the right direction before Saturday’s visit to BC Place Stadium.

“I’m better than I was,” said Lewis. “I felt pretty good out there, but my throat still bothers me a little bit. I was having migraine-type headaches, but that’s kind of backed off now, so I’m feeling better.”

He’s hoping Cornish has a more rapid recovery.

“Shoot, it took me three or four days to actually feel better,” he said.

“Hopefully he feels better by the time the game comes around. We all heal differently, and hopefully it’s something he can overcome in the next couple days. He knows the game plan.”

Meanwhile, two import receivers are dealing with minor injuries. Joe West rolled his ankle late in Wednesday’s practice and headed to the locker-room early, but his logical replacement, if it comes to that, has issues of his own as Maurice Price hurt his hand in Tuesday’s practice and was an observer on Wednesday.

“(West) should be fine,” said Hufnagel. “We’ll find out (Thursday). One of those, the ankle or the hand, has to get better.”
