‘Icing’ shortage

-

Re: “School promise under threat,” Oct. 29.

Our premier’s promise to offer full-day kindergarten will come at a significant cost, and the students in higher grades will suffer the brunt of this change. This will result in effectively adding another full grade to all K-4 and K-6 elementary schools in our province, increasing the stress already felt in many over-populated schools.

We will require more teachers, more support staff and more room, when we do not have enough money to pay for what we already have in place.

Perhaps Premier Alison Redford should have consulted her local bakery when she made this absurd promise during her campaign, as any cake decorator would advise you, when you already do not have enough icing for a cake, the last thing you should be doing is adding another layer!
