Beltline project proposed

real estate • Grosvenor Americas has acquired another multi-family development site in Calgary’s Beltline and is proposing an 18-storey residential tower to go along with its Drake condominium project already under construction.

The site — at the southwest corner of 15th Avenue and 6th Street S.W. — is at the opposite end of the block where the Drake is being built. That 17-storey, 135-suite condo is 80 per cent pre-sold and ready for the fall of 2013.

“Utilizing a similar design to that of Drake, the buildings will architecturally ‘bookend’ the block and further strengthen this central Beltline neighbourhood as a desirable place to live,” said Grosvenor Americas. The company said it will submit redevelopment applications for the site next year.
