Alberta to lead sales growth

holiday retail • Consumers in Alberta and the Prairies will lead the country this year in holiday retail sales growth, according to Ernst & Young.

In a report released Tuesday, it said holiday sales are expected to rise by 3.5 per cent across the country as consumer confidence improves. Ernst & Young said consumer trends will vary across Canada, with Alberta and the Prairies expected to lead and British Columbia and Quebec lagging behind.
