SALES SOAR
Residential sales in towns surrounding Calgary showed a huge jump from Jan. 1 to the end of November compared to the same period last year, while new listings continued to climb.
Sales were up 39 per cent from Jan. 1 to the end of November, with 4,878 sales this year compared to 3,508 sales during the same time last year.
New listings rose to 9,247 during the first 11 months of this year, up 7.3 per cent compared to 8,613 new listings to the end of November last year.
For November alone, the average price for housing of all kinds in the towns surrounding Calgary was $342,509, up 2.1 per cent from $335,414 during the same month in 2011.
