Nelson wins $48K in finale

• Roy (Big Country) Nelson received a basic purse of $48,000 US for his KO win over heavyweight Matt Mitrione in Saturday’s finale to Season 16 of The Ultimate Fighter. Nelson’s purse included a $24,000 win bonus, according to figures released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Mitrione made $12,000. Montreal’s Mike Ricci collected $8,000 for his loss to welterweight Colton Smith in the Season 16 final of the reality TV show. Smith made $16,000 including an $8,000 win bonus. Ricci and Smith each won $25,000 bonuses for awards garnered earlier.
