Andy Williams’ blankets for sale

-

NEW YORK • The late American crooner Andy Williams, famous for his classic easy-listening hits like Moon River, also had a passion for Navajo blankets.

The 80 museum-quality blankets are being offered for sale by Sotheby’s New York in late May.

They’re expected to bring in more than $1 million.

The highlight is a rare Navajo Man’s Wearing Blanket. Its pre-sale estimate is $200,000 to $300,000. Only about 50 are known to exist.

Williams decorated his home and the Moon River Theater with the blankets, both in Branson, Mo. The singer, also known for his Christmas specials, died in September at age 84.
