Hot tips and trends part of Homexpo
Event includes Herald rec show
The largest home, decor and renovation show in Western Canada returns this week.
The 41st Calgary HomExpo will boast more than 200 exhibitors at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park from Friday, Jan. 11 to Sunday, Jan. 13.
About 18,000 people are expected to visit the show during its three-day run.
This year’s show will feature guest speakers Hilary Farr and John Sillaots. Farr is a designer on the TV show, Love It, Or List It.
Farr’s presentation will focus on innovative and affordable design ideas. She will speak Friday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Sillaots is the former host of the HGTV show, In the Workshop.
He will offer advice on doit-yourself renovations during sessions at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, noon and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13.
As a featured part of HomExpo, the Calgary Herald Recreation and Investment Properties Show is returning for its sixth year.
It includes 17 exhibitors, including representatives from sunny beach resorts and lakeside golf getaways.
It will also include advice from guest speaker Alanna Caplan, such as tips on crossborder tax planning.
The accounting professional is slated to speak Friday, Jan. 11 at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at the main stage area of Hall A.
