Pair of Roughnecks named to All-pro teams

-

With the sting of last Saturday’s playoff ouster fresh in their minds, the Calgary Roughnecks got some consolation on Tuesday when forwards Shawn Evans and Curtis Dickson were named to the 2013 National Lacrosse League All-Pro teams.

Evans, who captured the NLL scoring title with 32 goals and 112 points — a Roughnecks franchise record — made the All Pro team for a second straight season. The Peterborough, Ont., product joins Minnesota transition Jordan MacIntosh, Edmonton defenceman Kyle Rubisch, Rochester goalie Matt Vinc, Toronto forward Garrett Billings and Washington forward Rhys Duch on the first team of All Pros. Dickson led the Roughnecks with 42 goals and added 20 assists. The 24-year-old forward led the league with five game-winning goals and six shorthanded goals. Joining Dickson on the All-Pro second team is Minnesota forward Callum Crawford, Colorado forward John Grant Jr., Toronto transition Jesse Gamble, Washington defenceman Mike Grimes and Philadelphia goalie Brandon Miller.
