Stroll through Reader Rock

Friends of Reader Rock Society are inviting Calgarians to its annual stroll through the historical Reader Rock Garden this weekend.

The stroll will take place Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the gardens, which are located at the corner of 25th Avenue S.E. and Macleod Trail South.

Society members will offer guided tours to describe the history behind the developmen­t of the gardens, as well as the many species of plants on site.

Calgarians are invited to attend the free event, browse the used book sale, view art and enjoy light refreshmen­ts.

Calgary horticultu­rist and author of No Guff Vegetable Gardening Donna Balzer will be on hand as a guest speaker. Balzer is scheduled to talk at 1:30 p.m.
