Big city comes to ‘small town’ through The Edge

-

Looking for a cool, big-city condo in a community that is still small-town friendly? Then take the short drive north to Airdrie and check out The Edge, a condominium development by Streetside Development Corp. with a cool vibe in a community with everything you need close by.

After the first phase proved to be so popular, Streetside launched the second phase of The Edge, which is now selling.

The project has a distinctive design with bright colours, stacked look, stucco exterior and 16-foot ceilings in some topfloor units, says Lindsey Michalchuk of Streetside.

The ultra-modern one- and twobedroom units range in size from 582 to 982 square feet with some floor plans including dens, and prices that start in the $160,000s plus GST.

Floor plans are designed with a wideopen feeling and flexible spaces.

All units have balconies, with some having two — including one that is accessed from the master bedroom.

Heated underground parking is included. Several larger suites even have tandem parking spaces.

Of particular interest to many condo buyers is The Edge is also pet friendly.

Not only is the sleek, modern styling of The Edge unique in Airdrie, so too is the location in that city’s emerging East Lake region, which is home to Genesis Place recreation centre that includes an ice rink, indoor soccer fields, gym, pool, hot tub, weight room and dance studio.

Residents of The Edge love Genesis Place because it gives them all the great recreational facilities they want, without having to pay higher condo fees, says Michalchuk.

As well, the East Lake athletic parks are nearby, with pathways right from The Edge connecting to ones running around the lake.

Residents also have plenty of shopping options, with the closest grocery store a mere two-minute drive.

Airdrie is home to a number of major retailers, while CrossIron Mills mall is only a 10-minute drive away.

Access to and from The Edge to Calgary, the airport or the mountains is also easy via Queen Elizabeth II Highway, Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail.

If you are looking for a stylish big-city condo in a unique location, check out the second and final phase of Streetside’s The Edge in Airdrie.
