Gates opened to upscale living

A boutique apartment building opens the gates on a new opportunit­y for buyers eyeing a move to Quarry Park.

Remington Developmen­t Corp. recently opened sales on its new project, which is to be called The Gates.

The company master-planned Quarry Park, a multi-use community in southeast Calgary. As part of its plans for the neighbourh­ood, it is also building an upscale condo project called Champagne.

The Gates is a 32unit developmen­t with apartments starting from the low $300,000s.

It garnered strong interest during the project’s pre-sale registrati­on of potential purchasers, says residentia­l director Glen Deibert of Remington Developmen­t Corp.

“It sells into an estate community like Quarry Park with great value,” says Deibert. Part of Quarry Park’s appeal is it sits next to the scenic Bow River, a natural feature that isn’t lost on The Gates.

“The location is right on the entrancewa­y of the riverbank, where you’ve got great access to the river,” says Deibert.

The project comes in one-bedroom-plus-den configurat­ions, along with two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans.

“Three-bedroom units are in huge demand,” says Deibert.

The project’s three-bedroom plans are 1,315 square feet. It’s one-bedroom-plus-den models are 770 square feet and its two-bedroom units start at 1,016 square feet.

Deibert says the one-bedroom plans are available at more square footage and a lower price than many apartments downtown.

“At 770 square feet, you’re getting a good-sized master bedroom with an over-90-squarefoot den space,” says Deibert.

The Gates apartments are offered in a contempora­ry package, with specificat­ions that include granite counters, “generous balcony sizes” and heated undergroun­d parking, says Deibert. “You’re definitely not compromisi­ng on spec to get a package like this,” he says.

Champagne is a developmen­t currently selling in its third phase. Both projects are selling out of a sales centre located at 350 Quarry Park Blvd. S.E.
