BOUTIQUE LIIVING HEADS FOR HILLS
Semi-estate homes in Panorama Hills
A new boutique phase boasting semi-estate homes has opened in one of the most popular areas of the city.
Panorama Hills is a northwest Calgary development that is surrounded by amenities and connected to major city roadways, including Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail.
Within this community is a subdivision called The Parks in Panorama Hills, which recently opened its fourth and final phase.
In total, The Parks in Panorama Hills will have 400 lots. Its fourth phase has 19 lots that are around 38 feet wide on a 34-hectare piece of property.
Builders in this phase include Cedarglen Homes, Excel Homes and Shane Homes.
“The phase is quite beautiful,” says Allison Harvie, sales manager for Cedarglen Homes.
“It offers walkout lots on a really pretty park area with a pathway in behind. There’s an opportunity for people who were looking at the estate part of Panorama.
“If they couldn’t get into it, then they would find this area appealing.”
Homes in this phase are available from the high $500,000s, including lot and GST.
“It’s already stirring up all kinds of activity,” says Harvie of early interest in this phase. Cedarglen will place spec homes in the phase, with models including Aspen, Aspen 2, Enchant, Enchant 3, the Manning and the Newbrook, she says.
Shane Homes sales manager Jack Kushner agrees, adding “there’s been a lot of interest. I’d expect them to be available at a month at the most.”
The company has “people wanting to build (homes) between 2,200 and 3,000 square feet, so far,” he says.

The models Shane will offer in this phase include its popular Tofino and Rio series homes.
Excel Homes will offer a number of four-bedroom plans including the Montclair models 1, 2 and 3 plus Raleigh and Holloway. The builder’s three-bedroom Springbank plan is also available.
The homebuilder does “have bigger families in this community,” says Henry Luong. “We’re seeing a lot of people wanting to move up and getting something brand new while they still can.”
Excel Homes will be selling for this phase out of the show home the builder has in another area of Panorama Hills on Panton Way N.W.
Purchasers in Panorama have pointed out the importance of connectivity, says Luong.
“We’ve got a lot of customers who like to go to the mountains, so Stoney Trail to 16th Ave., they get straight to Banff,” he says.
“For the travellers, 14th Street to Stoney Trail gets them right to the airport. Just the convenience to being close to Balzac and the two Costcos in between, the Superstores and T & T Supermarket (in Harvest Hills).
“It’s everything in this community that everybody wants.”
