Waterfront lifestyle floated
Condo complex near Bow River and downtown
The downtown Waterfront condo development is all about urban lifestyle, sandwiched by work and play.
It fronts the blue and green of the Bow River, along with Prince’s Island and Sien Lok Park, and it is backed by glittering office skyscrapers. Developed by Anthem Properties, Waterfront — which notably stayed dry during June’s floods — recently opened a new show suite illustrating the finer points the tower and terrace homes of the new Outlook phase will offer.
Suite C-B is a stylish onebedroom unit, a plan offering between 521 and 524 square feet of space, with an exterior balcony of 68 square feet.
The refrigerator and dishwasher are concealed with custom panels matching the cabinetry to provide an uninterrupted appearance on the back wall.
Upon entering, a closet to the left with built-ins helps keep outdoor gear tidy and easily accessible.
The main living space is open from the kitchen, next to the unit’s entrance, through the dining nook and the great room, with its wall of windows and sliding glass door access to the balcony. Maintaining a cohesive look, wide-plank wood laminate flooring is found throughout the home, including the master bedroom.
The galley kitchen, to the right, offers sleek quartz countertops, with a light-coloured quartz counter and white tile backsplash around the gas range.
A layer of cabinets directly above the backsplash continue with glossy white exteriors.
A final row of contemporary flat-panel wood-grain cabinets above, reaching to the ceiling, as well as below waist-level, frame the white cooking area with medium wood grain.
The refrigerator and dishwasher are concealed with custom panels matching the cabinetry to provide an uninterrupted appearance on the back wall.
In a reversal of tone, the quartz countertop on the island is darker, with a white kick panel under the extended eating ledge with room for three.
Facing the dining nook, a built-in shelf at one end with a cabinet below provides extra storage. A large stainless steel undermount sink is centred on the island, with the stainless steel microwave tucked into the far corner.
A dining table provides space for more to gather for an evening with dinner.
The great room is bright with its windows and balcony access, and has space for comfortable seating to settle down to a good conversation with a guest, or to enjoy an evening of television.
The balcony, spacious for entertaining, has a rough-in for a natural gas barbecue.
The master bedroom, which is next to the great room, enjoys natural light from windows that reach almost to the floor from the ceiling.
The closet, stretching the width of the bedroom with two sets of double doors, removes the need for a bureau because the built-in drawers, shelves and racks inside offer generous storage space.
Next to the front entrance is a short hallway with a closet for stacked laundry.
The three-piece bathroom features a quartz countertop with undermount sink, and an open shelf running the length of the mirror that stretches across the width of the room.
