TV turns to weddings
With all of the holiday festivities out of the way, brides are free to start frantically planning ceremonies, receptions, flowers, invites, hair and — most importantly — start trying to find that perfect gown. TLC recognizes that with Bride-day Fridays, a day full of programming devoted to those preparing to walk down the aisle — and the rest of us who get a kick out of watching bridezillas obsess over every detail.
This week’s lineup includes bedazzled new episodes of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta and Something Borrowed, Something New. Now in its sixth season, SYttD: Atlanta’s latest episodes will see a pastor bride head to Bridals by Lori for a surprisingly sexy look.
Something Borrowed, Something New — where brides-to-be get to choose between a new gown or a re-designed heirloom gown — follows at 2 p.m. with back-to-back episodes kicking off its second season. (TLC )
Also on tap is Canadian scifi series Orphan Black, which earned critical kudos for its unique spin on the hot topic of human cloning — and put Regina actress Tatiana Maslany on the map. See how Maslany earned acting nods at the upcoming People’s Choice and Golden Globe Awards when Space replays Orphan Black’s entire first season all day and night. Season 2 is set for April 19.
