Corner suite offers double the view
Mark on 10th unit has superb downtown vistas
With views in two directions, a corner unit shows how life in a downtown Calgary tower can offer excellent vistas filled with natural light.
The Plan A show suite for Qualex-Landmark’s Mark on 10th condo project contains two bedrooms and a den plan — offering an interior space of 861 to 872 square feet, with a balcony or patio between 54 and 829 square feet, depending on location.
The entrance foyer serves as a private space to answer the door. To the left is a closet with floor-to-ceiling sliding panels housing a stacked washer and dryer.
To the right is a closet for stowing coats and boots.
Underfoot is wide-plank wood laminate flooring that extends through the living and dining areas.
Next to the closet is the main three-piece bathroom, which is tiled on the floor and the bath surround with large, light-coloured porcelain tiles.
The sink in the bathroom is under-mounted and includes wall-mounted modern fixtures. The ceiling-height mirror above the vanity offers built-in shelves behind one panel — a way to keep a variety of small items off the countertop, but within close reach. The home subsequently opens into the main living space.
The kitchen is built with the range and oven facing the back. A peninsula island holding the sink and dishwasher faces the dining area and the great room beyond.
The tidy kitchen features glossy white cabinets by Nobilia, which are full height and soft close and have polished chrome hardware.
Helping create a unified look, a Liebherr fridge with two drawer freezers have fully integrated panels.
Recessed under-cabinet lighting brightens the counter workspace. A backsplash of small glass tile in a watery blue cast gives a hint of the light blue Prairie sky that will be seen so often from the many windows in Mark on 10th.
The kitchen island has a waterfall edge to the quartz countertop — a feature in the A and C plans — as well as an extended ledge with seating for three people.
Bevelled mirrored panels along an inside wall help bounce light through the kitchen and dining areas.
The dining area contains a modern interpretation of a candelabra chandelier.
The great room has plenty of room for seating, with tall windows to maximize views and light. To one side of the room is the entrance to the secondary bedroom, which has a large closet for storage.
On the other side of the great room, sliding glass doors offer access to the balcony or patio, depending on the level.
Next to the balcony and at one end of the dining area is the den, which is closed in with sliding glass walls to help keep the sense of space and retain the view. The den has windows to the exterior of the building, as well as two to the side onto the balcony.
In the back corner of the unit, the master bedroom has a large closet with floor-toceiling storage. The master ensuite has with a large glasswalled shower and a round, partially sunken vessel sink on its quartz countertop.
