Ukrainians hold support rally

activism • Ukrainians in Calgary organized a peaceful rally downtown on Sunday to support protesters clashing with government forces in their home country.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress’ Calgary branch condemned Ukraine’s president, Victor Yanu- kovych, for signing laws that it says curb political rights and civil liberties.

Organizers behind the protest at Olympic Plaza planned to hold a moment of silence for victims who have died in Kyiv, Ukraine during these attacks.
