Country estate has room to grow
Springbank home’s architecture is colonial-inspired
For buyers with their hearts set on soaring space at all ends of the home, it’s tough to contend with this country estate stunner in Springbank.
This home by Gallaghers Homes is in old colonial-inspired architecture and dubbed Le Manoir in Morgans Rise. The home boasts brick and fibre cement siding and was built last year.
It sits on 0.8 hectares (two acres) at 11 Morgans Court and on the resale market for $2.75 million. Including the undeveloped walkout basement, it reaches 7,095 square feet. For large families, that’s elbow room and then some. The home includes four bedrooms on the second level and the opportunity to add two more in its undeveloped basement.
There’s a heated four-car garage, giving more than enough space for the family’s vehicles and a home workshop.
The star of the main floor is an expansive kitchen with two islands and large amounts of storage with multiple pantries. Its ceiling features rusticlooking recycled beams.
“When this home was designed and built, it was to keep in mind that this would be for family and also entertainment,” says Melissa Gallagher of Century 21 Bamber Realty.
One of the two islands can be used for meal preparation, opening space for guests to congregate around the other.
“Everything is very functional in the kitchen,” she adds. The kitchen includes soft-close cabinets and drawers, along with appliances in high-end brands, such as Wolf and Sub-Zero.
Just off the kitchen is a sunroom with its fireplace. This is one of three fireplaces in the home.
The sunroom has a remote phantom screen that blocks the wind and keeps bugs out. Next to the sun room is a dining area with windows that look out at the backyard.
Ceiling across the main level are a towering 10 feet. Off the front foyer is a large formal dining area featuring an elegant crystal chandelier on one side of the hall and an office with matching desks on the other. Also on the main level is a large great room with a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace surrounded in brick and flanked by built-in shelves. This space is bright with soaring windows on both ends of the room. Next to the great room, a curved staircase steps up to the second level of the house. In the master bedroom, one wall links to both the ensuite and walk-in closet. The walk-in closet has a makeup desk and a central island with shelves for shoes. Its ensuite has vanities on opposite ends of the room. A chic free-standing tub sits next to a rear-facing window that offers sprawling views of the Rocky Mountains. There’s also an enclosed shower with a glass door and a telephone-style shower head.
Two of the secondary bedrooms connect with a Jack and Jill bathroom and there’s a guest room with an ensuite. The second floor also has a laundry room with a stacked front-load washer and dryer. For more information, visit melissagallagher.ca
