New duplexes unveiled in Evanston

Duplex buyers have a new opportunity in one of the fastest-growing areas in the city.
The community of Evanston has launched a new phase and unveiled seven duplex show homes.
Evanston is a community master-planned by veteran developer Qualico and part of the greater area of Evanston that includes Evansview and Evans Ridge. This area saw one of the highest population increases in the 2014 civic census with 1,704 new residents.
“It’s definitely a community worth looking at,” says Qualico’s Maribeth Janikowski.
“There are going to be two new schools in the area and a new shopping area opened last fall … it’s a great community.”
The community’s price range is also part of its appeal, she adds. Along with duplexes, it offers laned homes from the $460,000s and move-up homes from the $500,000s.
“It’s a great place for people to get their starter home right up to something for when they are looking for more space with their family,” says Janikowski.
The community is now selling into its 23rd phase, which is comprised of 96 lots including 48 for duplexes.
These duplexes start from the $450,000s and are offered by a seasoned builder group, including Pacesetter by Sterling Homes, Broadview Homes, NuVista Homes and Trico Homes. Trico’s new show home is the 1,956-square-foot Gemini 2 model. For Broadview, it’s the 1,535-square-foot Elliston and the Ashton, which is 1,500 square feet. NuVista’s are the 2,146-square-foot Saxony and the 1,920-square-foot Shannon. And the 1,842-squarefoot Carlisle 2 model and the 1,931-square-foot Hogan are Pacesetter’s show homes. All models come with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
The show homes are located on Evansglen Close and open 2 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
