Scott loses 7-hole playoff

GOLD COAST, AUSTRA-Adam Scott three-putted LIA for bogey on the seventh hole of a playoff Sunday to hand the Australian PGA Championsh­ip to fellow Australian Greg Chalmers.

Chalmers closed with an 8-under 64 to match Scott and Wade Ormsby at 11-under 277 at Royal Pines. Scott and Ormsby shot 71. Ormsby was eliminated on the third extra hole.

Scott won the tournament last year.

New Zealand’s Michael Hendry was fourth at 9 under after a 71. Scott Stallings was another stroke back after a 70, and fellow American Boo Weekley had a 74 to finish at 7 under.

WESTWOOD TAKES THAILAND TITLE

England’s

CHONBURI, THAILAND Lee Westwood won the second Thailand Golf Championsh­ip for the second time in four years, closing with a 5-under 67 for a one-stroke victory.

Westwood finished at 8-under 280 at Amata Spring.

U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer of Germany and Australia’s Marcus Fraser tied for second. Kayner shot 68, and Fraser bogeyed the final hole for a 70.

LANGERS TOP FATHER-SON FIELD

ORLANDO, FLA. and Jason Langer won the PNC Father-Son Challenge, closing with a 13-under 59 for a two-stroke victory in the better-ball event.

The Langers finished at 23-under 123 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club’s Grande Lake Orlando.

Fourteen-year-old Jason jumped into the lineup Saturday when sister Christina withdrew because of back issues. He’s the youngest son to win the event.

Davis Love III and son, Dru, also shot a 59 to finish second.

GRACE PREVAILS IN ALFRED DUNHILL MALELANE, SOUTH AFRI-

South Africa’s Branden CA Grace won the Alfred Dunhill Championsh­ip by seven strokes, finishing with a 4-under 68 for a 20-under 268 total.

South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen was second after a 69. Grace started the day with a one-shot advantage over Lucas Bjerregaar­d, but quickly widened the gap.
