Police hunt pair who stole truck, went on crime spree

Two people are wanted for stealing a pickup truck and using it to carry out a series of crimes throughout Calgary since Feb. 23, police say.

Police believe the two suspects, a man and a woman both in their 20s, are responsibl­e for stealing gas, breaking and entering, and hitting a parked car and fleeing the scene.

Police are looking at the following offences:

Feb. 22: A tan- coloured Dodge Ram is stolen from a location in Olds, Alta.

Feb. 23, 11: 30 a. m.: A man fills up the truck at the Shell gas station in the 7000 block of Fairmount Drive S. E. while a woman enters the gas station store. They leave without paying for the fuel.

Feb. 25, 4 a. m.: The Dodge Ram is seen fleeing the 200 block of Covewood Close, N. W., the scene of a break and enter. Witnesses see a man and woman with similar descriptio­ns to those at the gas station also leaving the scene.

March 14, 5: 50 a. m.: It’s believed the same vehicle hits a parked car in the 0- 100 block of Hazelwood Crescent S. W. Later in the day, police recover the vehicle in the alley behind the 700 block of Sabrina Road S. W.

Police describe the man as slim, Caucasian, 5- foot- 8, and 25 to 28 years old with brown hair and a buzz cut. He was wearing black sunglasses, black pants, and a black, red and white hoodie. The woman, wearing a dark cardigan, is described as Caucasian, 5- foot- 6, 20 to 24 years old with shoulder- length blond hair and a medium build.
