Okanagan lakeshore living
L ocated minutes from downtown Kelowna, yet worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city, McKinley Beach looks out over Lake Okanagan, offering a true lakefront community lifestyle.
Covering 350 hectares, the property is Kelowna’s only lakefront community offering not only freehold ownership, but also its own 92-slip marina, says sales manager Michel Tremblay.
“(Buyers are) looking for freehold, proximity to downtown,” he says. “They’re looking for something a little more natural and rustic, with larger lots. Most of our lots are 150 by 75 feet wide.”
McKinley Beach is being developed by a partner- ship that includes the G Group of Companies and North American Development Group.
“The Gaucher family (of G Group) has been in the Okanagan Valley for four generations,” says Tremblay, adding sales began last year and phases 1 and 2 are each 90 per cent sold, with Phase 3 to be launched this spring. Phase 3 features 22 new lots, half of which are “infinity lots” offering spectacular dropoff views of the lake.
Buyers can chose from one of five quality homebuilders, Tremblay says.
Making McKinley Beach a reality has been a family dream for Grant Gaucher, president of G Group of Companies.
“It is a generational proj- ect,” says Gaucher. “We’re unique in having a fairly large tract of land attached to a kilometre of lakefront. All our building sites have views (and) our vision is to create a total village concept with restaurants … with some retail and wellness involved.
“With a neweast-west road going in, we’re soon to be about six or seven minutes from the airport.”
Prices for Phase 3 range from the mid-$300,000s to the mid-$400,000s for the infinity lots, says Tremblay.
