Nolan Hill to unveil 14 new show homes

- JOSH SKAPIN

Show home-goers have 14 new reasons to visit a master-planned community in the city’s amenity-stocked Symons Valley corridor.

A veteran builder group of Pacesetter by Sterling Homes, Homes by Avi, Morrison Homes, Shane Homes and Trico Homes will unveil two show homes each in the zero lot line segment of Nolan Hill during a grand opening at noon today. These homes are set to start from the $450,000s. Trico and Homes by Avi will also lift the curtain on two move-up show homes each in the community.

Nolan Hill is developed by United Communities and accessed off Symons Valley Parkway and Shaganappi Trail N.W. It boasts a wide variety of single-family home options and six multi-family sites.

United’s marketing director, Steve LePan, says there’s been strong interest in zero lot line options, adding “that price point seems to be a good spot in the market right now.”

With zero lot line homes, a house is built against one side of a lot that’s generally 29 feet wide.

“You get the same-sized house that you would on a 34-foot-wide lot but it’s on a smaller lot so you save money on the lot price,” says LePan.

Morrison’s new show homes are the 2,310-square-foot Cliffton and the Harlow, which is 1,805 square feet. Cliffton has four bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms while Harlow has three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms.

Both of Pacesetter’s show homes have three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. They include the 1,704-square-foot Ellis and the 1,939-square-foot Manhattan.

For Shane’s part, it’s the 2,027-square-foot Ladera and the 2,067-square-foot Orion II. There are three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms in both floor plans.

Homes by Avi’s zero lot line show homes are the 2,022-squarefoot Reynolds and the new 2,051- square- foot Hemsworth floor plan. Both have three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. The builder’s front-attached garage show homes are the 2,423-squarefoot Glendale and the Hawthorne measuring 2,198 square feet.

Trico’s zero lot line show homes are the 2,515-square-foot Winston and the Hudson, which is 2,131 square feet. For front-attached garage homes, Trico has the 2,485-square-foot Kennedy II and the 2,159-square-foot Berkley.

Along with the show home parade launch, a block party to benefit the Calgary Food Bank is also set for Nolan Hill today.

This event will feature live music, street performers and familyfriendly activities. Each builder in the new parade has been collecting food donations and will showcase their haul in the back of a pickup truck. Members of the public are also encouraged to bring food donations to the show homes today. In addition to the food items, the builder group and United Communities will donate $10,000 to the food bank.
