McDonald’s Q2 profit sinks

-

A drop- off in customers at its U. S. restaurants has contributed to a 13 per cent decline in McDonald’s second- quarter profit. It said Thursday that sales fell two per cent at established U. S. locations, as featured menu offerings and promotions failed to live up to expectations against competitors. It’s the seventh straight quarterly decline in that figure. For the quarter, the company earned US$ 1.2 billion, or US$ 1.26 per share. A year ago, it earned US$ 1.39 billion, or US$ 1.40 per share.
