Miles Ahead set for premiere

-

Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead, will make its world premiere as the closing night film at the New York Film Festival. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced the selection this week. The film has been a longtime passion project for Cheadle, who stars as the jazz musician and directs for the first time. Miles Ahead concentrates on Davis’ re- emergence in 1980 after his so- called “silent period” in the late 1970s. The film does not yet have distribution in North America. The 53rd New York Film Festival runs September 25 through October 11.
