With tee- up at the Shaw Charity Classic less than two weeks away, here’s what you need to know: What: The Shaw Charity Classic is in its third year as a premiere stop on the Champions Tour. It’s been confirmed for a further two years. Competitor­s are profession­al golfers aged 50 and over. Dates: Aug. 5- 9. The Pro- Am ( everyday golfers pay to play with a pro) runs Aug. 5- 6. This is a great time, as a spectator, to get photos of the legends. The 54- hole Champions Tour tournament follows from Aug. 7- 9. Tee times are posted daily at shawcharit­yclassic.com Where: Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, a private club in southwest Calgary. There’s no parking for spectators at the site, but free shuttles travel regularly between the Anderson CTrain station and the golf club. Cyclists get priority parking, with bike stands right in front of the spectator entrance. Tickets: Buy tickets online. The cost is $ 30 for any day of play. Youth 17 and under are free with an adult. Tickets to the Pro- Am cost only $ 10. A variety of packages are available. Charity: The real winner will be Alberta charities that help children. Tourney organizers hope to raise $ 4 million.
