Suspended Brady tops NFL sales
Tom Brady’s status for the start of the NFL season remains in question, but his popularity does not. Brady had the NFL’s topselling merchandise in the financial quarter ended May 31. It’s the first time in Brady’s 15- year career — which includes four Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots — that he’s been the top- selling player. San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick was second. Brady, 37, was suspended four games by the NFL for his involvement in the deflated- ball controversy. Brady has appealed. The NFL players’ union has proposed a settlement on the suspension — seeking a large fine.
