Hero to zero

-

Re: “U.S. hunter who killed African lion hunted game in Alberta,” July 30.

Walter Palmer’s indiscriminate slaughter of wildlife solely for the purpose of having a head to put on his wall is disgusting. He killed a beautiful lion, a bighorn sheep, rhinoceros, leopard, mule deer, elk and God knows what else.

He tries to justify his actions by stating that he paid $50,000 for permits. He should have spent that money on the protection of these animals or offered his dental services to Third World nations to make a better world, instead of satisfying his hunger to kill animals that are on an endangered species list. He could have been a hero, but unfortunately he is now a zero. How sad there are still people in this world who think like him.
