COMMUNITY: The master-planned community by Qualico Communities is found on Calgary’s northeast corner off Metis Trail. It boasts 16 hectares in green space and eight parks including a Partipark, which includes outdoor fitness equipment.

PACESETTER BY STERLING HOMES:

The Santiago 5 is not only a show home for the builder but also its top-selling option in Redstone’s front-attached garage segment. The 2,377-square-foot home comes with four bedrooms, making it a magnet for large families and multi-generational living situations, says area manager Kari Bramley. “It’s got the double front attached garage, which is nice,” Bramley says. “It’s 21-by22, so it’s a little bit oversized.” The master bedroom is accessorized by a large walk-in closet and five-piece ensuite. Other winning elements include a spacious flex room on the main level and central bonus room with vaulted ceilings. “I find that the four bedroom with the central bonus room is probably one of the features that brings people into (the home) as opposed to having a bonus room over the garage. It leaves your upper floor a little bit more open concept,” Bramley adds. The starting price in this home is $562,000.

BROADVIEW HOMES:

The go-to option in Broadview’s sales centre has been its Aria plan, which starts at 2,417 square feet. But with custom touches, they’ve ranged from 2,400 to 2,850 square feet, says Broadview’s area manager Dmitri Voyevoda. “It’s a four-bedroom house with double master bedrooms,” he says. “People moved in with their parents and the kids want their own master bedroom and so do the parents.” The main floor features a U-shaped kitchen with walk-through pantry along with a spacious flex room and half bathroom. “If there are older parents, what they do is they use that flex room as a bedroom,” Voyevoda says. “That way they don’t have to go upstairs. So they just put a shower into the powder room and the powder room is big enough in this home so you can do that and away you go.” The starting price on the home is $595,000.

TRICO HOMES:

Unlike Broadview and Pacesetter, this Trico offers homes with a rear rather than front-attached garage. These homes front on to a large green space. At press time, the builder was down to its final few lots in this product. The sales centre favourite has been a 2,318-square-foot model dubbed the Parkwood. Like its front-attached counterparts, a generous bedroom count has been key. This one has the ability to run four bedrooms across the second floor and a fifth on the main. “When you come into the Parkwood, you’ve got a nice-sized great room and then you’ve got a really nice big island,” says Trico’s sales associate Joanne Erickson. “Upstairs, there is a really big bonus room and you’ve got your master bedroom with a lovely five-piece ensuite.” There’s also a second-floor laundry room with built-in shelving. The starting price is $585,000.
