MARK OF EXCELLENCE

Three builders honoured

- JOSH SKAPIN

Homebuyers have had their say and three Calgary builders have been singled out for the standout experience they provided last year.

Cedarglen Homes, Cardel Lifestyles and Avalon Master Builder have picked up honours through this year’s Home Owner Mark of Excellence (HOME) Awards. These awards recognize builders who received the best feedback from buyers in a survey that reviews quality of workmanship and delivery, process and customer service. The survey is administered through research company CustomerInsight.

Gold awards are earned for the best customer feedback in their category, while platinum awards also count survey results from staff and trades.

Cedarglen picked up gold in the single-family category for Calgary builders while Cardel Lifestyles was best in class among the city’s multi-family developers. Avalon Master Builder captured Calgary’s Builder of Choice platinum award.

“I’m really proud of us as a team to be able to get this award,” says Rachel Hession, service co-ordinator with Avalon. “We’re always looking at new ideas on how to improve our customer service. This really proves what we spend our days working on is working and that our customers are truly happy with us.”

Avalon has projects in various stages of sales and development in Marda Loop, Cranston and Raven- swood. Calgary builders that made the finalist list for the platinum award include Broadview Homes and Cedarglen.

“It is a highlight achievement to be recognized,” says Cedarglen president Howard Tse on the company’s gold award. “Especially for our staff. To be reminded that everything we do is affecting someone’s life and new home, for us, is just a wonderful statement.”

Cedarglen is part of the southeast Calgary communities of Walden, New Brighton, Auburn Bay and Cranston’s Riverstone. Finalists for single-family gold in Calgary were Morrison Homes, Broadview, and Sterling Homes.

This year’s competition saw Cardel Lifestyles with a repeat vic- tory. The multi-family developer with sites in Auburn Bay, Cranston, Nolan Hill, Sage Hill and Walden, also won multi-family gold last year.

“This is a significant award for us because it’s based on three surveys that evaluate the entire customer experience,” says Brayden Logel, Cardel Lifestyles’ sales and marketing manager. “Winning this award for the second year in a row is recognition that our goal of sustained excellence in customer experience is being achieved.”

Builders that made the shortlist for this year’s multi-family gold award in Calgary were Morrison Homes Multi-Family Division, Broadview and Avalon Master Builder.
