Park helpers will be missed

Re: “Why cry over spilled water?” Editorial, April 22.

Every time city resources are called out to provide services that volunteers used to do for free, it will diminish the perceived cost savings.

These increased costs will likely exceed any savings. Don’t overlook the fact a healthy lawn helps control dandelions. The parks department is setting themselves up for dandelions to run rampant.

Surely, someone will eventually use a little common sense and realize this was an ill-conceived plan. Bob Freeman, Calgary
