FATHER ALLEGEDLY CUTS OFF HANDS OF ACCUSED RAPIST

WASHINGTON A father in India is accused of taking revenge to an extreme. Two years ago, an unnamed teen, then 14 years old, was accused of raping the seven-month-old daughter of Parminder Singh.

On Tuesday, the now-17-year-old appeared at court in Punjab. Singh approached him with the offer of a settlement. He promised to give the boy a ride to town on the back of his motorbike.

“(Singh) took him near a dried up canal, beat him up badly and then tied him to a tree and finally hacked his hands off,” Bathinda police officer Swapan Sharma said. “There is nothing below the wrists now.

Villagers found the boy on the ground, alone save for his severed appendages that lay beside him.
