Biggest album: Purple Rain (1984), the soundtrack for Prince’s movie of the same name, has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide.
Biggest singles: When Doves Cry reached No. 1 in Canada and the U.S. Let’s Go Crazy also reached the top spot in the U.S., as well as No. 2 in Canada. Both songs are from the Purple Rain soundtrack.
Awards: 7 Grammys, 1 Golden Globe, 1 Oscar Hall-of-Famer: Prince was inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, his first year of eligibility.
