We should expect better

Andrew Coyne nailed it. As our leaders, they should set the example that “not criminal” is not good enough. As an average Canadian Joe, I try to set an example for my kids on right and wrong. That does not mean, “let’s see how much I can get away with before I get caught.” It means having ethical standards (not cheating), common sense and acting in a way that one would expect from others.
The term “leaders” in this context should not just refer to senators, but all those who influence society and could benefit from that status, especially those living on the public dime. Rob Butler, Cochrane
