The province of Ontario launched an Electric Vehicle Incentive Program in 2010 to support the adoption of electric vehicles, as there were few electric cars available at that time. Since then, the system spurred the purchase of 4,800 vehicles and 1,100 home chargers over the last five years, according to a recent news release.
