-

The late Ron Southern is among four philanthropic business leaders joining the Calgary Business Hall of Fame.

The ATCO founder, along with Ross Glen, president of RGO Office Products; Arc Financial Corp. founder Mac Van Wielingen and Shane Homes chief executive Cal Wenzel were named as the newest laureates at a luncheon Tuesday. Southern, who was represented by his wife, Marg, at Tuesday’s announcement, died in January at the age of 85.

The four will be officially inducted during an Oct. 13 ceremony to benefit Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta.

“These four individuals exemplify the true character of Alberta through their unwavering spirit; vision and determination, they have set the benchmark for business excellence as both citizens and mentors in our global community.” Scott Hillier, president and CEO of JA Southern Alberta, said in a statement.
