We Are Savvy
If you haven’t caught up with this refreshing, inventive and sharply produced magazine-style series that runs on high-grade girl power, there’s no time like the present. It’s hosted by three teenagers: Tehya Silbermann, Sarah Webber and Spencer Barbosa, all of whom are focused on bringing a wide mix of interests to their segments for each show. Their message to teens and young women boils down, essentially, to “You can do or be anything you want.” (Family)
KILLJOYS
On a new episode called Meet the Parents, Johnny (Aaron Ashmore) escorts Pawter (Sarah Power) home for what turns out to be a somewhat chilly family reunion. Meanwhile, D’avin (Luke Macfarlane) experiences some surprising side-effects from Khlyen’s (Rob Stewart) Red 17 experiments. Hannah JohnKamen also stars. (Space)
OUTCAST
At a time when he most needs allies to help protect him, Rev. Anderson (Philip Glenister) begins to find himself increasingly alienated from those around him, in the new episode What Lurks Within. Meanwhile, the sinister Sidney (Brent Spiner) drops a shattering revelation on Kyle (Patrick Fugit). Wrenn Schmidt and David Denman also star. (HBO Canada)
THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT
Veteran British actor Terence Stamp (The Collector) earned raves for his performance in this offbeat 1994 comedy. He plays one of three female impersonators struggling to cross Australia in a rickety bus called Priscilla. Ultimately, they become stranded en route. Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce also star. (Encore)
