The ensuing investigat­ion by Brooks and Devlin (Bradley Walsh, Jamie Bamber) soon turns up evidence that a hit man had been hired to kill her, but when the identity of the most likely person to have hired the shooter comes to light, Rachel withdraws her co-operation with the police.
