Bike lanes first, traffic will follow

-

Great letter describing your 12th Avenue traffic experience, Bob Freeman. However, the last two paragraphs (“What an absolute travesty...”) drew the wrong conclusion. Let me rewrite the conclusion: The next day I had to go downtown, I rode my bike. What a delight!

Empirical evidence supports city council: Build urban transportation infrastructure and the traffic will follow. Give it time. It’s a relatively painless way for Canada to meet climate change commitments. Harrie Vredenburg, Calgary
