The CNIB turns off the lights while Calgary’s best head to BreakOut West

Friday: Twilight Concerts

The series that marks the waxing and waning hours ends with a concert in the morning and another in the evening. The fare is relaxing classical music from India played by Raj Rangayyan on the bansuri, and Utpal Mazumdar on the tabla. Friday and Saturday: Epic Romance: Chopin & Bruckner

Saturday: A Little Light Music

Wednesday: Concert in the Dark

The Alberta chapter of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind tells a story of vision loss by turning out the lights for a night of performanc­es. At Orpheus Theatre, SAIT. 7 p.m. $25. eventbrite.ca.

Thursday: BreakOut West Kick Off Party

BreakOut West is the annual Western Canadian Music Awards. This year, it’s in Regina, but this show gives fans a chance to wish Calgary’s representa­tives—Lexi Strate, The Northern Beauties, 36?, Jody Glenham and the Dreamers—well. At Broken City, 613 11th Ave. S.W. 7 p.m. $6. TF.
