STUDENT SUCCESS AT THE HEART OF WHAT SA IT DOES
SAIT has made student success a priority, which means graduating from the school isn’t so much a milestone as it is a springboard to the career, andthelife, eachgraduate is seeking.
“Student success is at the core of everythingwedo,” saysSAITchief executive officer and president, Dr. David Ross.
“From information sessions and helping prospective students choose the right programs, to fostering close ties with industry so those programs remain relevant, and helping students develop the interpersonal skills needed in today’s workforce, wewant toensure SA IT graduates have the job-ready skills they need to hit the ground running.”
Success is also qualified by taking employer satisfaction into account when businesses and organizations hire SAIT-educated employees.
Ross says with 98 per cent of those hiring SAIT graduates reporting they would hire a SAIT graduate again in the future, the school’s leaders can be satisfied that they are meeting the needs of both employers and graduates.
Ensuring students are successful, however, also means investing in employees. SA IT hi res industry experts as faculty and then provides them with the training and mentorship they need to equip their students for satisfying careers.
“As a learning institute we believe in providing employees with opportunities for lifelong learning ,” says Ross.
“We invest in ongoing professional development, including initiatives such as our free seat program where employees can take SAIT courses and programs as well as professional credential enhancements through which we support completion of professional degrees and designations .”
Staying relevant also means applied education has remained a foundation al priority and competitive advantage at SA IT.
