Police charge two men in fentanyl and cocaine sting
Calgary police say two men have been charged in connection with a cocaine and fentanyl trafficking investigation.
Investigators have also seized close to $50,000 in drugs as part of the bust.
A tip in September launched the investigation after a member of the public said drug dealers were handing out business cards titled TWJ’s Catering Service with three names and contact numbers listed.
Police said during their investigation, they saw one of the suspects dealing drugs on the property of a post-secondary school.
Officers searched two vehicles and homes on Monday, one in the 200 block of Fresno Place N.E. and one in the 0-100 block of West Springs Road S.W.
They seized 67 grams of crack cocaine, 742 fentanyl pills, 99 fentanyl/heroin pills, 31 grams of methamphetamine, 118 grams of powder cocaine and $22,010 in cash.
A total of 17 charges have been laid against two men.
Jeffery Truong, 21, of Calgary is facing 14 drug and criminal coderelated charges.
Christian Lay, 24, of Calgary is facing three drug and criminal code-related charges.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4.
