Standing up for Canadian values

Re: “Calgary MP receives racist emails after criticizing Leitch,” Nov. 14.

Deepak Obhrai needs to take a pill. First of all, there is already a screening process.

We can’t have every Tom, Dick and Adam being allowed into the country. So no, we’re not going backwards.

Second of all, Conservative leadership candidate Kellie Leitch only said she wants Canadian values — equality of opportunity, hard work, generosity and freedom.

Obhrai says we have to remember we’re living in a new Canada filled with citizens from many different cultures. My grandparents came from a different culture, and they worked hard to fit in and contribute, not whine for handouts and bring drugs and violence to the Canada I love.
