Nov. 11 is about honouring the dead

Re: “Reconciliation can begin next Nov. 11,” Letter, Nov. 16.

Rosemary Fuller wrote, “In Ottawa on Remembrance Day, we need to make a change. Indigenous veterans’ associations should be among the dignitaries who lay their wreaths first, rather than being relegated to later groups.”

Although I appreciate the sentiment, Remembrance Day is to remember the war dead, not to recognize various groups laying wreaths, lest we forget. Eric Collins, Calgary
